This year the scope will be flexible while building on and evolving from prior programmes. In addition to NQ Computing Science, it may include CS learning experiences from the start of the BGE in Early Years through Primary and S1-3, for example across primary-secondary transition.

STACS is working closely with Education Scotland on this, and we’re inviting you to join the first workshop, happening on 26th November 2024, 10am-3:30pm in Glasgow. We're looking for a wide range of voices to shape the future of Computing Science in Scottish education.

Are you passionate about sharing knowledge and inspiring your fellow teachers? Do you believe in the power of collaboration to enhance teaching and learning in Computing Science? We're seeking dedicated educators to bring STACS Connect events to your local area.

STACS will be hosting a virtual event to bring together teachers with an interest in this area, to share ideas and showcase what has worked in their classrooms to help inspire more females into Computing Science.

Over three evenings, we hosted three events with five hosts, nine sessions, and thirteen speakers, including a special message to teachers this year from Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP

At STACS, we appreciate the incredible work teachers do daily to inspire pupils in Computing Science. We sent messages to all STACS members across Scotland, expressing our gratitude for their dedication and hard work.

We were honoured to attend the dot Scot 10th anniversary reception at The Scottish Parliament. It was a great evening and we were delighted we could share our story of STACS and why we choose .scot.

We are immensely thankful to JPMorgan Chase & Co., who hosted us in their incredible new offices in Glasgow. This sold-out event had over 100 teachers attending from 19 different councils.

We are so excited to be announce this years #cssconect event! Our annual event where we bring together the Computing Science teaching community. Our upcoming event is a great opportunity for new and experienced Computing Science teachers to come together, make valuable connections and learn from each other.

We are excited to be launching STACS Connected, a community hub for both Primary and Secondary teachers with a specific focus on Computing Science at school level.

Inspiring pupils, especially girls at a young age, is essential to establish a sustainable and robust tech talent pipeline for Scotland and to make significant strides in closing the gender gap. We're thrilled to announce an exciting face-to-face event as the grand finale to this year's STACS upskilling journey. Responding to the feedback of teachers, we've curated a program in Database development, Software development, and Web development, covering both National 5 and Higher levels.

The recent announcement that Replit is withdrawing the Teams for Education product was an unpleasant shock. The extremley short notice has left many educators scrambling for alternatives. Given the substantial following of Replit Teams in Scotland, it's evident that this decision has significant implications for our teaching community. We are aware of the considerable time and effort that many teachers have invested in creating resources and projects within the Replit platform. We are here to help.

An excellent day at Futurescot Digital Glasgow event. It was great that STACS had a stand and could help promote Computing Science at such an well known tech event. A huge thank you to the FutureScot team for making that happen.
