Our annual #stacsconnect event

We are immensely thankful to JPMorgan Chase & Co., who hosted us in their incredible new offices in Glasgow. This sold-out event had over 100 teachers attending from 19 different councils.

The collaboration between industry and education at these types of events is what made this event standout! This year, we were able to extend the invite to our amazing primary colleagues, who are doing fantastic work in inspiring pupils to pursue Computing Science and building the essential foundations. The work primary colleagues are doing is vital, and opportunities for Primary and Secondary colleagues to come together are rare. This event also featured industry speakers. Bringing together industry and education to create meaningful connections was amazing and created some meaningful sparks.

There were 9 amazing sessions to choose from, providing a chance for the teaching community to focus on Computing Science, learn from each other, network, and celebrate the new Computing Science teachers who have recently completed their PGDE.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support from Rachael Neil MCIPD, Nicola Field, Nicola Heron, and a big shout-out to the wonderful Olga Korenyak, who travelled up from London to deliver a fantastic session and all the brilliant volunteers who supported throughout the night in particular Ross

Here is just a snapshot of some of the wonderful feedback that teachers sent through. We are already looking forward to the next one.
