Amazon BigTrak Workshop

At Amazon here in Edinburgh, we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of innovators and problem solvers. That's why we've designed this hands-on workshop to introduce children to the fascinating realm of technology in a fun and engaging way.

During this interactive session, your pupils will have the opportunity to explore the world of robotics with BigTrak robots. These machines will come to life under their guidance, teaching them the fundamentals of coding, problem solving, and critical thinking.

But that's not all! Our expert facilitators will guide your class through the challenge of working together as a team to program BigTrak, developing essential skills for the future as they go! And at the end, they will have time to have an interactive chat – the pupils will get the chance to see the robots that Amazon use in our warehouses, and to ask our facilitators anything they like about working at Amazon, and in STEM jobs.

Who is this aimed at:

The workshop has been designed for Primary 6 (age 10-11) kids, although we are open to discussing other age groups if appropriate (for example for composite classes or small schools). The ideal number of pupils in one workshop is 18 or less – for larger groups we can send 2 facilitators and split the classes in half.

Where would it be held:

Amazon representatives would visit the school to run the 90-minute workshop. To accommodate large P6 year groups we would deliver the workshop multiple times during a school day. All we need is a classroom for each group. We can talk about how this could work if you'd like to arrange this experience. If you are interested, we’d love to partner with you. Please reach out to us directly for more information.

Target audience: Edinburgh Primary schools, workshop designed for primary 6 pupils.
